In 2007, we established a scholarship fund, supporting the children at KFO (orphanage) that wanted to further their studies after High School. Since the start of the program, four of our students have graduated and are working in the fields of accounting, web design and quality control. All are in jobs with good salaries compared to local standards.
Norway House then expanded the Student Program to also benefit children outside the orphanage. These are recruited by CRF, while Norway House is making the final selection.
Since 2007 25 students (14 female) have been supported. In 2017 the Norway House sponsored student group consists of 8 students, and by Feb 2018 there are 2 sponsored students who will finish their education by 2020. In addition is Miss Chandy granted 2 more years. News of September 2018 is that Theary Noun will get support for a Masters degree for 2 years. We have known her since she was a little girl at the Orphanage, read her story here
Almost all the students have lived in a house we have rented, near our local partner CRF (Child Rights Foundation). CRF monitors the students on a regular basis.

" The first time I would like to say thanks for orphanage center that give a place to me for living and study 12 or 13 years ago. And the second Thanks to Norway House that gives scholarship and pay for all everything like Food, Accommodation, Study cost and everything that important to me, if I don’t have a scholarship from Norway House I don’t know how is my life today or further? But now my life so better than before and I hope in the further my life will be better and better. Rey Ou was selected to our student sponsoring program in 2013. He had then finished his first year of a 4 year bachelor program at Pannasastra University, majoring in International Relations, but did not have sufficient funds to continue his studies. Norway House awarded Rey a scholarship, which gave him the opportunity to continue his education and get the support he needed. He has just started his third year of studies and continues to do well. Rey's dream is to be able to go abroad to complete a Masters Degree, and to work as a professor or a diplomat. He lives in the student house funded by Norway House, and has proven to be a very valuable addition to the group. Read his story at the blog.
